Endowed Gifts
Recognition and Naming Opportunities

The Metropolitan Opera is very grateful to our loyal friends throughout the country who give their support each season.

We are especially honored to be able to recognize members of the Met family who make a special commitment to the Endowment, in addition to their annual patronage, to ensure that the Metropolitan Opera continues to bring the joy of great opera to future generations of audiences.

Endowment gifts of $100,000 or more are recognized by gift level on a plaque located on the Grand Tier in the Metropolitan Opera House. Special Leadership Gift recognition is made for commitments to the endowment of $2 million and more.

Naming Opportunities

The primary purpose of the Endowment is to provide unrestricted funds for annual operating needs. However, we would be delighted to discuss special gift opportunities such as:

  • Named production funds
  • Endowed artistic positions, such as the Concertmaster or Chairs in the Orchestra
  • Audience development activities, such as the PBS telecasts, Met Titles, the Met Broadcasts and the Rush Ticket Program
  • Named endowment funds to honor or memorialize family members or others for whom the Metropolitan Opera held special meaning
  • There are a limited number of Opera House spaces to be named in connection with significant leadership gifts. We will be pleased to discuss this with you privately if you are considering this kind of naming opportunity.
